The doljabi (돌잡이) is a Korean tradition that takes place on a baby’s first birthday, wherein the baby selects from a set of objects, one that symbolizes their path in life.

On my doljabi, I chose the pencil.

Now, I write upmarket and literary fiction, essays, and poetry based on my experiences as a melancholic, child of immigrants, and millennial goofball living in these strange times. I love writing stuff that makes people cry on Sundays and want to hug the people they love. I hope my writing feels like the memory of an old best friend. If they were melody held dear.

I sharpened my pencil at UCLA, and graduated with a BA in English. My professional background is in marketing; I specialize in content strategy and copywriting.
